SUGGESTED
ACTIVITIES
-
Students will be given a crossword puzzle
or wordsearch dealing with computer terminology.
-
Students will take an index card with
computer terminology on one side. They will then find out information about
that particular word as it relates to computers and technology. Students
could type these words into a word processing program and begin a file,
folder, or booklet containing computer terminology. As the year progresses
the students could easily add to this list as they learn new words.
-
Teachers will discuss computer etiquette
with the students and model the skills listed.
-
Teachers will type in sentences from Daily
Oral Language. Students will open the file and make necessary changes.
-
Students will create attractive and eye-catching
flyers. Students will insert graphics and spell check brochures. Students
will save and print files.
-
Students will use Encarta or similar CDs
to search for current information on topics.
-
Media Specialists will discuss and model
how to search for specific books using electronic library catalog.
-
Students will produce a book report presentation.
Students will draw pictures in paintbrush, import them into PowerPoint,
and add text.
-
Students will create classroom newspapers
using Microsoft Publisher.
-
Multimedia skills can be integrated with
social studies, foreign language, and language arts curriculum by having
students compose a PowerPoint presentation as a product of the student's
individual research on a German topic.
